Power Cables for Amp through firewall

They actuallu DO make 6x9 speaker mounting spacers. But, if you have spme MDF or plywood laying around, you can make your own. BTW........if you install the spacer, the door trim panel will not fit on the door (unless to cut a hole in the door for the speaker). Easiest bet.........get speakers that fit!

Another thing to note, and I'm sure Chris would agree, is to not run your power wire with your signal wires if you can help it. You will always get the RPM whine from doing that. I've also replaced my motor grounds with audio grade 4 gauge wires, everyone knows that the stock ground points and wires just aren't great with audio, especially with the older vehicles.
As for where to slip the power wire through...if all else fails, you can also drill a hole through the firewall and into the cabin with a stepper type drill bit. Nobody ever wants to do that, but it's simply the best route with bigger gauge wires (except for 0 gauge, right Chris, lol).
Oh and welcome to DF Ruepel.

I agree with you on all of that. Let me point out another great thing to do. Access the output of the alternator (actually the rear of the alt.). That little stud that is labeled "BATT", run a 4ga wire from there to the + on the battery. What this will do is relieve the factory "dental floss" wire of excess heat during heavy current draw (good bass will create this if you have enough power). On my van I have a 240amp alt with 1/0 cable going to the battery. Made a bit of a difference on the volt meter during competition. Nothing like having 10,000+ watts of sound in a caravan!

All the noise is still gone.I said I was using monster cables but I was wrong, they tsunami cables.I was wondering if I might be able to move the polk 6x9's from the rear and put them in the door instead?I guess I will just to go try it and see what happens.I appreciate the response from everyone and I have done everything right I think except for grounding the hu to a better ground and running a cable from the alternator to the battery.Chris,I can't even imagine what a 10,000 watt system would sound like...lol.
