towing a car
ok I'm really having a hard time trying to make a choice on what vehicle to get but I really want like a 96-2001 dodge caravan but the problem I have is i want to be able to trailor my car to the track sometimes maybe like twice a month but I dont think the caravan can handle that but on the other hand I have a family too and need the room but most of all I always have to take my drum set to different gigs and the caravan would be perfect for that, so I really can't decide rather a dodge ram or the caravan.... but anyway has anyone here ever towed a car on a trailor with there caravan????
i would suggest the RAM, i have a 1995 Plymouth Grand Voyager (91K miles) and a 1996 RAM 1500 (191K miles) and wouldnt even think of pulling anything with the van (although i am installing a hitch for the bike fack), i've pulled some really heavy loads with the Ram and its pulled amazingly well, actually suprised me being that is a 1500. one of my friends has a 2000? caravan that he pulls small u-haul style trailers with and it seems to do fine though.
uhhhmmm ok thats what I was thinking but the only problem is my family would be kinda tight in a ram, well what about the dodge durango with the v8 in it i've actually seen some of those with trailors on them at the track pulling there cars but I just don't know if I can get a drum set in it though, what you guys think?
ok today I went out looking at the dodge's and the durango it's plenty of room in to do what I need and the salesman there tells me that it has a towing capacity of 7000lbs but he was talking about the 2007 model but I'm looking for a 98-2002 model durango, so I just need to figure out what the exact towing capicity is on those things

I have a 98 Grand with the 3.8L. I tow a small camper called a T@B, and it does very well. I have some trouble up hills, and into the wind. I live in the Midwest, so hills are few and far between, wind is another issue. The gross vheicle weight is about 2,000lbs.
