Default Rear blower noise and 3.3 thermostat ?

I like to never got logged on for some reason and I tried searching first.

Wife's 2000 caravan 3.3 stopped warming up so I knew I had to change the thermostat.
When I removed the water neck the thermostat was in pieces, luckily I found all
the pieces. Is this common ? Pulled the new one from the box and noticed the
hole in the thermostat is not centered, it is offset. Checked the original one
and it was too. I didn't notice what way it was sitting in the engine. It looked
like it wouldn't make much if any difference so I put thermostat closet to the engine.
It seems to be running normally. Does everything have to be
crazy and complicated on these darn FWD PIA ? What would the offset be for ? I can't see
it making any difference, why wasn't the thermostat centered as every other one I have ever seen has been ?
The only possible thing I can think of is they were trying to promote better flow because the water outlet is sitting
to one side of the engine. After thinking about it I believe I have it installed where it wouldn't quite flow as well as
they intended but it works perfectly. Anybody run into this ?

Second issue.......rear blower motor making noise till it warms up. I am thinking bearings ?
She also just noticed it only runs in high from all control locations. I read about the resistor block
being bad causing this. Course Dodge says you can't replace just the resistor block. If it's a resistor
it can be replaced . Anybody looked at this thing ? I know a reputable shop that can get bearings and check the motor
out for me cheap but I need to know if the resistor block can be replaced from a junk yard one or not.
Aftermarket blower motor is 298.00 plus tax.

Thx for all your help.

I'm being told by the dealer that the resistor block is part of the REAR blower motor assembly unlike the front
where you can get the resistor block separately ?

i dunno about the blower, but the thermostat is offset to make room for the little check valve ball to help bleed air out of the system

i drilled my check ball out, & opened the existing hole to the next size larger hole, & dropped running temps approximatly 20-25* running around

There is no check valve to release air on this 2000 3.3.
