98 Caravan- headlight switch & dashboard
Hello Folks-
Any idea how to get to the headlight switch, so I can change it out? It was working intermittently, and then finally gave up the ghost. Now, we have no headlights, unless I hold the highbeam switch back. It looks like I have to take a good part of the dash cover off. I'd hate to force anything that had a screw holding it in, but I understand that there may be some clips too.
Any advise would be appreciated.

Get a manual as the procedure is covered there. It's not too hard, just time consuming. Believe me the $20 bucks is well spent, as it answers many questions. The factory service manual is best, but spendy ($100), if you can get one for your year.
As always, good luck with your project!

Thanks Webbe!
Actually, I counted to ten, took a few deep breaths, and slowing examined the situation and found the order to remove the proper pieces. I did this after looking a Haynes manual which went directly to removing the switch from the back of the panel.
I appreciate your advice!

Well, after all that, I got the switch replaced, and still no lights. Damn. After reading a bunch of posts, I thought I was looking at the BCM, which is around $600 plus labor, or maybe a fuse box (PDM). Either way, that was too much computer work for this car. Then I remembered it's all about computers, and when my computer at home starts to act funky, I re-boot it. So I unplugged the battery, waiting a minute, and re-attached the cable. Waa-laa- the lights work now.
It's probably not fixed, but it's working. All I have to do is get another 6-12 months out of it.
