Guess I just believed it when it said Chrysler! Seriously though, it is a Mitsu? My neighbors have a 90something and theirs says Mitsu.

They are actually a mitsubishi motor and design that chrysler purchased the patents on. There were 4 or 5 motors that shared the same design with the 3.0 being the big daddy and a 1.6 or 1.8 as the baby of the series. But they are a mitsu motor through and through.

Rodak, the 3.0L engine is a non-interference engine.

If the timing belt breaks, the engine stops, bit is NOT damaged.

Confirmed 3 weeks ago when my brother-in-law's 3.0L quit.

It was the belt, caused by coolant leaking from the water pump.

$700 CAD to fix here in Toronto, ON.

I am working on my son in law's Chrysler 93 van with a 3.0 engine. How in the heck do you get the damn water pump back in? It is tighter than a tick and I cannot get the new one to go back on! I tried rocking it and twisting it and it won't budge. Anybody have any suggestions? I am at my wit's end.
