Well Dodge isn't Mercedes anymore, so maybe they won't go nuts. I would seriously consider getting one if I wasn't the broke fool that I am driving thrashed old trucks that have 0 trade in value.

yes, so long as dodge remembers that they are dodge, not mercedes..and prices it similarly to the mustang...

Agreed. I'm so pleased we're now this close to "production" and we may actually see a hemi (5.7, 6.1 or 6.4) mated to a 6 speed, w/ functional air scoops and a pistol grip!!
Pretty freakin cool...now we just need a reasonable price for it to take the New Chrysler back to where it belongs!

The SRT (6.1+) version, my guess, 38-40K, which should be less than the 500HP Cobra, but with less power, unless they put the 6.4 in it.

My gut feeling is the base Hemi vs the base GT, the Dodge will be2-3K more, but will also have more power.

The concept is much better looking than the fat pig that's going into production.
Rumor has it that the first 5,000 production are going to be automatic transmission only cars. What a joke...
Not worthy of the nameplate.

The car is a muscle car, it is a coupe, it has an optionalHEMI that is rated at the same hp output as the original, it looks very similar to the original on both the in and outside, what the heck more can you expect? If you don't like it you don't have to buy one, that'll make it leave one more out there for me. Another rumor holds that it will have a manual.Just because you don't care for minor changes in the looks and the fact that the initial models might only feature an automatic does not automatically disqualify a car from being worthy of the nameplate. For one thing, the Challenger did have an automatic originally as well as a manual. Many people chose the automatic back in the old days because it could shift faster than a person could shift a manual. So does this mean that automatic Challengers of the classic versions are automatically unqualified and unworthy of being called a Challenger since your definition of the Challenger is limited to manuals only?
Since we are on the topic of things being unworthy of a namplate, is your Powerwagon unworthy of the Powerwagon nameplate since it looks very little like a Powerwagon and some Powerwagon owners might consider it to be joke and consider it to look like a "fat pig," ordo we judge that vehicle on the academic sense ofwhat the Powerwagons were (tough, off-roading, military capable trucks)? Or how about your Mustang? I personally didn't care for those body styles as I believe it looked nothing like the originals, would I be unfair to slam its appearance and call it "unworthy" or either the Mustang name let alone the Cobra name?
The other rumors hold that the 2009 models will feature a manual and I'm happy that they will as I'm looking foward to getting one with a manual.
