Yea so 6000 people ordered the 2009 Challenger?
What makes yeaaaaa think any will get the car????
A dealer will get his allocaton to sell on his lot.
Now if the lucky ones went to a very big dealer that sells lots of cars then maybe you might see a challenger?
Now the small dealers I feel will NOT see any challengers at all,they will not have a allocation for them.
My feeling that there will be many Basic Hemi Challenger Rts that will be selling as much or less as the charger rt is selling for.Yes I feel you can get a 2009 Challenger at INVOICE if you look a tad.
I am sure if you hit the dealer at the right time you will get the 2009 Challenger at invoice or a tad over it?
I feel you have to be NUTS to order a Challenger?
You might have to wait over a year and have to REORDER one as a 2010 Challenger?
You will feel like you were taken because the dealer you have ordered from will have Challengers
for sale and you will still be waiting in LIMBO for a build date.....................JT

As for the Challenger if someone orders the car and it comes in it is the customers car. The dealer and the customer have both signed a binding contract for the car. As for the Invoice on the R/T's that may happen when the fever goes down on the car but as a employee I cannot get one for invoice or my factory price. That is why I will wait for the 09 to get a 6 speed and the 5.7 in the R/T at employee price[8D] I hope!
You need to find a more reputable dealership, I do realize that there are shady ones out there but look for a smaller 5 star dealership, it is harder for them to keep the ranking than the mega dealer that Chrysler Group panders to. That goes for the Ford Blue Oval dealers also.

I found NO ford dealers were going down on thier Msrp when the 2005 Stang came out....
I waited till Laborday weekend of 2005,so I could look for a 2006 Stang Gt at Invoice or X-price.
Nobody wanted to do it,but Only 1 dealer out of the 50-100 dealers I called would have sold me a stang gt at invoice.....
I am sure once the Challengers come out,the first few days people will be able to get a 2008 Challenger for msrp or under(but you have to call lots of dealers up and get lucky}
I rather wait to the 2009 challenger rt comes out with the manual trans.......
I have a few Small dodge dealers near me,once I know the car hits the streets,I will run over and see iffffff I can get a good deal.Hope its the end of the month when the dealers need to get rid of cars......(sorry about my spelling,its the wine lol}........JT

From what I understand....every dealer is allocated at least one car. I know mine is and the presell has already started on that car. Sure the cars are going for $15000 or more over MSRP but they are a limited production run of 4500 cars. They are numbered and all, so I can understand. However, the 2009 model year should show the full range of vehicles including the one I am going to have....the 6 speed R/T

Yep the dealers will get 90% of the cars and many dealers will not see the car....
Butttttt there will be FEW that ordered the car,that will never see it....
There might be 4500 0r 6000 2008 Challengers,,,,,but 90% will be allocated to dealers and the 10% will be for the 4000 - 6000 that put orders in.....Most will never see the car if they have ordered one....We will see what happens in the next few months.....JT
