Build Your Own Option for 2009 Challenger
Has anyone else noticed that there's a 2009 Challenger "Build Your Own" option available on the Dodge.com homepage?
Trouble is though, everytime you click on it you're taken to the 2008 page. Perhaps they'll be adding the page soon (I hope).
I'm chompin' at the bit to find out what additional options will be available on the '09. They had better have more than just the usual hum-drum colors for the SRT. A particular peeve of mine with the Charger was that the Daytona editions got all the cool colors (particularly Plum Crazy). Why can't we have our cake and eat it too?
I sure hope they include some interior trim/dressup options for the Challenger. I don't think I'm the only one that thinks the interior is alittle bland in comparison to the exterior. I've heard that there will be an aluminum pedal set available as an option. I can't understand why they don't come with power adjustable pedalsthough.
Has anyone else noticed that automaticdual-zoneclimate control isn't an option for the 2008s?
The Challenger should, at the very least, have as many optional extras as the Charger. Being a current Charger SRT8 owner, I would be greatly annoyed with having to downgrade my ride when trading in for the 2009Challenger. Anyone else with me on this one?
P.S. I wonder if they'll have the variable cam and intake installed in the 6.1L for the '09 cars. If not, I don't see why they couldn't. Surely these new features are durable enough under high-performance conditions if the Viper has a similar setup?
Alittle more power would be nice to fight off the GT500s with.

I noticed the "build" feature too...and that it is empty for now. Similar to the load of more color options w/ the inital page opening, yet they are "dead" when you roll over them. I suspect they'll come live soon, probably after NY Autoshow (March)since they are supposedly making another anooucements then...just my hunch.
I too am hoping '09 provides more "options" and features but I would not get your hopes up too high. I think they tried to squeeze the Challenger out w/ minimal additional investment. To me, that's why the cool dash is gone, replaced by existing dash components. That said, if they're smart, they would do "packages" like Ford does on Mustang where you can upgrade your Challenger w/ different stripes, shaker scoop, wheel options, etc. But I think they be limited choices.

You're probably right...but hope not. Let's see, the Mustang can be had in:
six cylinder version
"Pony Package"
GT
GT500
KR500
Converible
Roush
Saleen
Hertz Edition
California Special
Bullitt Edition
Probably some I forgot as well. And I suspect, the Camaro will have an RS and Z-28 version too. I just hope Dodge does something in between....such a Marketing opportunity and something that could be outsourced to the outside like Ford does too.

Naw, it still doesn't work. If you notice, it takes you to the 2008 build your own menu.

Milous, I think you're right, I understood what you meant. But the list I had on the Mustang versions are serious engine, trans, suspension and gear ratiodifferences across those cars. I too believe Dodge will do some "packages" like the Vanishing Pt and T/A versions, but unlikely the very different under the "skin" (stripes. etc).
Hey, but I'll take anything they'll juice a bit
