Default Blinker stick not returning ok

My blinker/turn signal "stick" is acting up a little.

When using the turn signal, turning right, and then going straight again, the stick goes back, but instead of stopping in "neutral" position it goes over to left turn signal and I have to flip it back.

Any ideas if it is an easy fix?
Any ideas of just getting in behind the plastic to see the mechanic parts?

replace blinker stick assembly...ie multifunction switch
my 07 pick up would signal left regardless of which way I moved the stock. replacement fix it.

replacement involved removing the steering wheel trim covers. turning the steering 90* to access the bolts. removing the electrical connectors, pushing in the plastic tab lock and sliding the assembly out.
parts can be had at rockauto, pick and pull or dealer.
