5.7 heminStarts ticking at cold start up and doesn’t go away until you shut the engine off. Any idea what’s going on?

The famous Hemi tick. But, have you checked the oil level? When's the last time the oill was changed?

It doesn’t sound like the famous hemi tick and I don’t need an oil change. Could it be something else?

How is the engine running and do you have any codes? On the Hemi motor they do have oil squirt jets that lube the pistons from the bottom and sometime you can hear a ticking sound from that. Or you either have a lifter, push rod or a flat camshaft. That is why I was asking how the engine was running.

I don’t really know about the engine. I just know it’s sluggish and I do oil changes as needed. I don’t have any codes for sure. They checked that for me at the dealership during the last oil change 6/20 and know that that’s something they told me specifically.

Does the engine feel like it misfiring, mostly above an idle? You could lift the intake manifold and remove the oil control valve that is bolted to front of the motor. Inspect the screen on the valve, if the screen is missing. Replace the valve and change the oil and filter. This is a recommendation not this your cause. If the engine is running fine and no DTC (engine codes) I would wait to get more intel from the dealer if they are looking into this. Also have them check Online bulletins from dodge. Or also known as TSB's.
