Consider the factory spent a lot of money paying people with lots of letters after their names to get as efficient as possible to get fuel mileage and power up. The system as a whole is limited by its individual parts. Since YOU aren't limited by the EPA on how the engine is tuned, that's about the only way you're going to get more power. You can add a low restriction air intake, but it'll only flow as much air as the rest of the engine will handle.
There are lots of little tricks to go faster but you lose utility. Back in the 1970's when I was racing, we would remove the disc brake front brakes and replace them with drums. I'd also remove the self adjuster assembly so the drums had to be adjusted by hand. The drag by disc brakes is very minor. The same with drum brakes with self adjusters. However, when you are trying to gain a fraction of a second, it's worth it. Before you ask, yes, the brakes DID suck.
I'd just make sure the maintenance is up to date and enjoy the car. Maybe tighten up the suspension to take advantage of the power you already have.
