Hello all.

I just bought a 2019 Scat widebody challenger with 34000 miles. The car runs and looks immaculate. It is a 6-speed manual. Some yt vids state the shifting is a bit hard and sloppy in these cars. I have noticed that when shifting it is not that smooth. It feels like i get push back a bit when shifting as if its going through some notches before going into any gear. Its wierd trying to explain it but it is not smooth. Is it supposed to be smooth? a bit of hardness or sloppyness is that normal? I just want to make sure. I know many manuals are built differently.

Any advice would be great.

 

Just to be clear. It shifts no problem it's just not smooth.

 

Throws are heavy and really have to push it in into gear.

Yeah, it appears that what you are experiencing is 'normal'..... Might check or change fluid..... see if anything changes.

 

I have the 6 speed Tremec in a 2011 RT Classic and the shifting is smooth as glass but I baby it. 34K is ~7K/year and a daily driver. You'd have to consider that workhorse load + the previous owner's shifting skill (or not) concerning wear and tear. How much city vs hyw, etc. Just some things to consider. Check fluid as HeyYou suggested (I think 30K is the check level).
