Default TIRES

Hey guys just want to get some advice on some tires. Going to get some 20's and the shops are asking if I want 245's or 255's. I know the SRT has 245, but anybody here get 255? Any advantages, disadvantages, sugguestions? Any help would be useful.

I may have this backwards but aren't 245s wider than 255?

That's what I always thought. Like the old 50s are wider than 60s. and 35s are REALLY wide.

Nope srry guys .245 is a metric unit of measure to convert that to inch divide it by 25.4 gives you the US standard of measure inch. SO the first number s the width second is a perc. of the width for your sidewall height third of couse we all know that .

I see. My main concern is that i just don't want to be rubbing up against the inner wheelhouse all the time when i steer. So baldloxs, any problems with that?

Yep, you're right. I had my head somewhere else when I was "trying" to think about this [:-]

Baldylox:

Are your shoes 255/55/R18? Or did you go with a lower profile (50's)? Also, what brand did you purchase? I only ask because the 55 version would be .6" taller than the stock tires (which is not bad given the wheel well gap.) It looks like the 50's would be a touch shorter (.5").

This car definitely needs some wider grips, so I bet it looks good. Any possibility of a pic from the front or back?

Thanks for the info

.SG.
