What should we do FIRST?
My wife just got an 06 Charger Daytona " Top Bannana." I would like some recomendations before I start throwing money at the car, we have been looking at exhaust, cold air intake and maybe a chip to start. Recomendations please.....

Welcome to the forum Dixie Lee.
It looks like you have the right idea on the first mods. Start with a SuperChips programmer and CAI. I’m on the fence right now on modding the stock exhaust; you might want to wait on that until your pushing 400hp.
As you probably know there are various CAIs out there. The first two on my list (in no certain order) are the AFE’s stage II and the AirHammer.
Enjoy the forum and happy modding!

My personal opinion is you will never get more out of your car then the exhaust is capable of moving. Stock exhaust in almost every vehicle is the most restrictive part. Think of it like a funnel, it don't matter how much you put in you can only get out what the exhaust will flow. I say put your money in a good set of long tube headers and an after market x-pipe type exhaust. You can get CAI that will be close to what the high dollar ones are performance wise for around $60 (or at least I can for my truck) Then put a chip in it. Or my favorite just drop a 528 Crate HEMI in it and be done.
If you have the Road & Trackoption of the R/T (<= what a mouth full)save a few bucks if youjust want a louder exhaust & slap blastin bob's tailpipes on it.
That stock exhaust is a good one, not very restrictive at all and it does kill the drone.

Hello! And welcome! First, hope you really enjoy your Daytona. Second, Mango knows what he's talking about. The stock exhaust is very good and, unless you're going after some heavy mods like cam and heads, the stock exhaust will handle things pretty well. I have the R/T, and it is pretty well set that the Daytona exhaust is more open and a bit better.
Having said that, I have a MP CAI on mine - not sure its the best, but it sure sounds good
! I put the Magnaflow full cat back exhaust on - big mistake. Oh, it works fine, but it has the dreaded "drone". I also have the Flashpaq Super Chip that is used to tune the car.
Altogether, the car is definitely strong and pretty much what I want at this point in time. The Flashpaq Super Chip would be a good first purchase. then you might think about either exhaust upgrades, or the CAI. You may not benefit from the CAI much without an upgrade to your exhaust, but as mentioned, the Daytona exhaust is pretty anyway. So, I would do the Super Chip, then CAI. Then, I would look pretty hard at the pipes Mango talks about. Whatever you do - ENJOY!!!

in mopar muscle last month or a few months ago they put the slp loudmouth system on a stock daytona. i forget how much they gained horsepower wise but i think they took a half a second off the ET in quarter mile runs. keep in mind these are professional/very experienced drag racers so you may not see a half a second increase, but if i had a charger, from what i read in that article that would definantly be one of the systems i was considering. i think there was a guy here that put one on his car a few weeks ago, but im not sure since i dont really spend much time in the charger forums.
SLP has it all happening then. They took more off their ET with a Catback than LT headars or a cam + Corsa Catback did for mine [>:]
What's that saying "believe half of what you can see and none of what you read"... something like that. How many threads you you read were folks are adding up what the vendor said their mods wouldadd to HPand say "I'm putting500HP to the ground"
345 + CAI (10) + Headers (30) + Purple and Orange Snake oil (5) + SuperChips (10)+ heads and cam (100) = 500 HP.
Way off subjectbut I'vealways been a fan ofthe 80/20 rule, 20% of the time 80% of the work gets done, that's real life stuff you can believe
