Remote Start Problem - Hot weather
I've got a problem I've read about on the forum, but no-one seems to have a handle on.
I get two honks back from the car, and "I'm not starting for you today", is what she's saying.
It happens every afternoon when the temp is above 40degC.
I've read a few posts but I don't see a fix yet.
My guess at the moment is the mercury in the bonnet tilt switch is expanding due to the high ambient heat, and sunshine on the bonnet.
I've done a temporary short on the switch, and I'll post the results. The good thing about here, is we are getting 40deg+ here every day, so I should be fairly sure when I get a fix on this. The interior of the car regularly goes over 60deg, so who knows what it is under the bonnet.
Thanks to the guys for the info on how to stop the horn honking when I hit the remote switch. She's a quiet girl now.
I'll report further.
