Default ZEX NOS - Good idea?

Didn't one of the "regulars" here put NOS on his ride? How did that turn out? Like it? No? Sort of? Love it? I'm looking at a kit from HHP that will run $1,000 (Zex kit $570, with window switch $200andcabin remote switch $200). Is that $1,000 better than $450 for an SC? Sounds like you can't run both...

Also, when you use NOS, howhungry does the heavy Chargerwant to eat? Does a 10 second stomp finish the bottle? At $6 a pound, that might get spendy. But, oh, the fun! Is it WORTH it?

Any thoughts?

Heck yea it gets the big new Charger going and doesn't rip a hole in your back pocket compared to other means of getting HP. Me and others are using theZEX kitw/the SuperChip 91 tune, no issues.... yet

The standard 10lb bottle is good for 4 or 5 trips down the track @ 100 shot.

Refills round here on the 10lb bottle is 25 Hemi Bucks. If it's not empty it's 2 HB per pound.

I have the Base + Racers kit and the window switch. Will get the remote opener soon.

My thinking is the $1,000 is good for 75 HP. (I don't think I want to detune by Charger by 4 degrees for the 100 HP shot). But you are saying that you are using the 100 shot at full timing with the SC tuned motor? Sounds scarry to me! The computer must have a hay-day trying to keep the pistons intact. I hope it works for you. And $2 bucks a pound sounds like I need to check around.

But in all my research I think you're right. NOS seems to be a good return on the investment.

Any times at the track yet?

Yup, 100 shot and 91 tune. The stock timing leaves a lot to be desired.

I haven't made it to the track yet, but am itching to go.

Ok Mango, you are a math professor right? ZEX+ SC+ Hemi Charger= Go-Man-Go! I think for the money, you've written a great formula!

Are you able to get 5,000 miles on a set of rear tires? LOL.

Still on stock tread but it's getting thin.

A stock charger with a 100shot of nitrous would be enough to crack the 12's but only you have some pretty good rubber on the chargers big butt, atleast 255's rather then the 235's. Know a guy with a charger with just an intake, and a superchip with a 75 shot and hist best time is a 13.01 at 107mph man was he pissed

Nicky,

My "big butt" Charger with the stock tires, K&N and Jet 2 chip, and ESP off, runs a 14.02 @ 102, but I loose because of traction problems. Anyway, putting the NOS on, and IF the Jet 2 chip is as good as the SC, he ran a second faster for about $700 (the cost of the NOS kit). That isn't bad $700 = 1 second. Lots of guys put more and get less.(A guy postedfor sale on Ebay with a $10,000 upgraded engine and parts on his Hemi Charger WITH 10" slicks, ran a 12.96 at 105).
