The engine cover that is. Here is a shot of my Hemi engine, just like yours, but without the cover. It runs "much" cooler without the foam backed, restrictive plastic cover that doesn't allow air to escape or the coils, wiring, or intake to cool offquicker while running. Try it -- drive down the road and take her home and take off her top and feel how hot her intake is...Now the next day, take her down the road with her top off, take her home, and feel how much cooler the intake is. You'll think twice before you put that bonnet back on!

I gave mine to a friend that had broke his, now it doesn't take up valuable room in the garage LOL

 

Does your friend need another - maybe a spare?

His had broken his <= yup believe it or not, and he wanteda custom painted one. Last time I saw my old top hat it had beenpainted black w/some lightning bolt patterns on it.

I'mall with the colder running better ventalated thing rather than looks [sm=smiley20.gif]

 

Ilost .20 secondsin the 1/4 mile by removing mine, but I like it so leave it on when I am not at the track. That is the single biggest improvement in performance except the Superchips. But I will say that since my engine and tranny have a fresh new factory flash, they perform considerabley better. I would say that the new factory flash is as good as the "sport mode" on the superchips! And a heck of a lot better than the original.

 

any advantage to leaving it on? if not mine is coming off tonite!!

I do it also it is much cooler.

I wish the car came w/ a bad *** manifold like the SRT.

I saw someone on another forum take thiers off polish it and paint it gloss black . Looked pretty good.

 

i like it, but i'd paint that manifold
