$10,000 + Hemi Charger = 12.96
I saw this on Ebay and had to pass it on. It is also running on a post about ZEX NOS - Good Idea? Nicky B, made a good comment about a friend using a much stock R/T and with NOS and getting 13.01. If the data is reliable, I think the guys running NOS and better tireswill scare a lot of cammed up, polished headed, header breathing, fat wallet cars into the ditch!

Update on the that car mnboy he ran a 12.89 Same setup superchip, 75shot spraying 50 in 2nd and 25 in 3rd, and intake, but with newer 255's on the rear the same size as the SRT-8's running 94 octane but he is planning on getting some better rubber but the same size tire hoping to shoot for a 12.80. And hehas dyno'd the car at 381HP. But with slicks and just a 50shot a other wise bone stock R/T will run13.3-13.5But he only puts about 750miles on the car in a month so he is certain his axle will hold and he only sprays 3times every 35days.
Nicky and Mango, I have ran a 13.85 with my "big butt" Charger Daytona, not bad, I thought, for a mostly stock 4k pound car, with just a Jet 2 chip. But I stillwant the performance of the SRT8 (but I like the looks of my Mango Daytona)... so it looks like NOS.Mango says he uses the 100 shot with the SC programming. I'm going to just run NOS with theJet 2 chipfor starters. The SC looks like it is too much money foronly 10-14 HP. I am going to takebaby steps here and try one thing at the time. I have the looks I want, just want the performance upped andform what all guys arebuzzing about, NOS is theway to go, dollar for dollar. ZEX makes a kit that appears to be safe. If I buy an SRT8I instantly loose my pretty interior and20% gas milage ALL the time. This way, I get my"beautiful" Mango interior andSRT8 power only when I want it -- pretty cool.
(You noticed I said want, not need!).Nicky, does your buddy use a two step system or just a straight shot?
Also, does anyone know how much NOS a stock 5.7 engine can take safely?

First I have to be an *** as it really bugs me when people refer to Nitrous as NOS. NOS stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems and is pronounced En Oh Ess. Not the rice boy hip hop Fast and the Furious mutilasion version that is so common in todays youth and new hot rodders. There are plenty of slang words for laughing gas such as juice, bottle, Nitro, ... we could probably start a complete thread on this but I digress.
To answer your question from what I have read the stock bottom end will not hold up to much more than a 100HP shot. I have no experiance so maybe some has some better info but I don't plan to use the bottle till I get a chance to beef up the bottom end.

Nicky, Thanks for the info. I agree with the third gear fall off, however, I feel it is from losing RPMs by shifting out of the power band and having third gear to make it up... I also agree with bolt ons -- holy cow, are there tons of stuff out now! For me, a stage 1 cam (to keep MDS), headers and new exhaust (again), SC to help keep those RPMs up, and a small NOS should do the trick.
After I'm done, I'm headed to Chicago for a dyno tuning... following my son and his STi.
Sounds like your buddy has it dialed in pretty well.
