well it's has to do with finding a western union in the are of tottenham
wife got scammed need to find out if the money was picked up in that area
if it is even passable.some where near 14 tottenham court road W1T1JY

 

I had a guy try to pull that scam on me and they were from london. My bank did an investigation butI haven't heard anything.

 

well I blame the bank for they had cleared
the check and then 3 days after they say it's no good

 

I had a piece of furniture in the paper when i got a relay call where the person on the other end was typing. they asked for some pics the after receiving them emailed me asking if I would let a shipping company pick it up. He said he would send me a casheirs check for an amount over the selling price and I was to wesern union it to the shipping company. WellI got a money order for $2,200+ for a $300 peice of furniture seemed high to me but fine it was a casheirs check not a personal check. I took it to the bank to cash it and he ran the number and it didn't match anything in their system. After some other checking they deceided it was a scam and said they would not cash it but wanted me to leave it with them so they could investigate. If it turned out to be good they would let me know. I later got a call from the scammer asking if I had sent the money yet and I told him what the bank said. He said he would talk to his bank and get another check issued. It's been a few months and I have yet to hear from him or the bank.

If your bank cashed this check and it was a fake then they should honor it. If not they are a worthless bank and you should change imediatly.

 

Unfortunately this is one of the most common scams on the internet, probably #2 after the Nigerian 419 scam. Always get your money or merchandise first....
