MDS?
I am going on a long distnce trip next week and i have had some trouble finding/getting a solid answer about my MDS. I do not have the dash information option so i don't really know when it is running on 4cylinders. I wanted to see what RPM/MPH range you all have seen the best MPG in your R/T's.

RE: MDS?
MDS run under a lot of paramaters and I don't know them all. On the highway run around 65-70 will yeild the best MPG. FYI... EVIC (dash information) doesn't tell you if MDS is on or off but you should be able to tell from the sound of the engine.
There are no issues w/ synthetic, I run Mobile 1.

RE: MDS?
Gunner,
I took a trip to CA and back from MN and totalled around 4,000 miles. With three passengers, a trunk full of luggage, and the A/C on, I averaged 25+ on the road at 70-80 MPH. Like Mango said, nothing on the dash tells you MDS is on or off -- but I can hear it in my aftermarket exhaust. It does work pretty much at any speed, however, I haven't tried it at 100...
I run standard Mopar 5-20 oil and my boys continue to push me towards Royal Purple.Maybe after I hook upa NOS, I'll switch to a synthetic.
PS: be sure to keep your pressure up on your tires -- makes a difference on those long trips.

RE: MDS?
I have to disagree on the on/off indicator for the MDS. Maybe it is different on the 2007 model. I have an 07 and when looking at the EVIC it will show "Fuel Saver Mode" when running on 4 cyl and "Average MPG" when running on all 8. That can also be found on page 140 of the 2007 owners manual.

RE: MDS?
I also own an 07 RT and as Bigfoot stated.....
"the EVIC it will show "Fuel Saver Mode" when running on 4 cyl and "Average MPG" when running on all 8"
He is right on the money. It works very well and I am impressed. the longest trip I have taken so far is 120 miles one way and my MPG was respectable for a new V8.
