New to forum, new to Dodge...questions!
I'm sure many if not all of my questions are answered in other posts, so sorry in advance. I just bought an '07 Charger R/T, with the R&T performance package. I'm also a Trooper and drove the Charger for a while...that's why I bought by first Dodge...I fell in love with it. Now for the questions...1) The police Charger governs at 150mph...anyone know what the civilian model governs at? 2)On the police one, you can totally disable the ESP, but I can't seem to do it on my car...Is it possible? Finally....I didn't want a sunroof, but the only cars in the area that had everything else I wanted also had the sunroof, so I gave in[:@] I either didn't notice it when I bought it, or it happened one time when opening it...The sunroof is not flush with the top of the car, it is maybe an 1/8" lower on one side and in a high pressure car wash it leaks! I have an appointment to get it fixed, but I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem with their sunroof. Finally, I've been looking at mods...what suggestions do you have? I've been looking at Zoomers or Corsa exhaust, and the shaker hood thing<---technical term.
Chargerchic welcome to the site. Is that your cruiser in the avatar? It looks like you are CSP. As to your questions I don't know the top speed as mine has only gotten to about 104 (or so I think since I don't speed [sm=smiley2.gif]). From what I have read you can disable the esp in you install a $50 dollar circuit board that you can find on this site if you do a search. I don't recall where offhand. The sunroof on mine sits flush and doesn't leak in the car wash. As for mods, I have only installed the Mopar CAI (cold air intake) and like it. It has a good sound to it when accelerating. I have looked at zoomers exhaust and have really good thins about it. The e-mail I received on pricing was$1049 with free shipping. The biggest issue with exhausts has been an annoying droning when themds kicks in, but every one has their own opinion as to what is an annoying sound. The shaker hood setup looks really good but is on the pricey side. I figuredI would look at them again after they have been out for a while and the price drops.
Well thats my long winded two cents worth of info. Hopefully it helps some.

Welcome to the fourm.
You speed governer is around 140-145. Get a tuner like SuperChips to raise this.
NoESP is what your after, just add a .com to it and that's the web site.
For CatBacks Zoomers are Corsa are the best followed by Borla. Look forgroup buys or a sale on these also.
I went w/RAMAir hood, it's kinda like the SRT8 except it rises up a little more so is aggressive looking. The shaker is cool but there's alot of plastic duct running around itthat may trap heat.

Welcome Chargerchic.
It's always nice to welcome a law enforcement officer, me being a former one -- (1974 to 1988).
I agree with Mango and Bigfoot about the pipes being a personal thing. You'll have a tough time listening to poor internet recordings and maybe if you're lucky someone has a set on you can ride with, but like most of us that go to a muffler shop, you don't really know until the last weld is done and you fire it up. Yes, the problem with the 5.7 Hemi is the MDS that produces the interior DRONE when it kicks in. Some systems handle it better than others (I've heard Corsa or Borla are best)but myMagnaflow system didn't handle it at all, so I tore it out and just use the stock suitcase resonator with MF tips... I like a quieter ride, so the only bass is from my stereo... Also, if you want to pass thosetrooper squads, use the $450 Superchip (SC)from Flashpaq.com.It seems to be the newest and is computer/internet upgradeable. (I bought mine from autoanything.com -- $450 and overnight shipping free). It will absolutely wake up your motor. You can setthe speed limiter higher, shift points higher, and RPMs higher to keep the small block in a better power band. However, the trade off is you'll need 91 octane fuel. I used to use the cheaper $250 Jet 2 chip -- butI can tell you there is a HUGE difference in the seat of the pants feel to the car. It is NOT the same. However, Dave, the Charger moderator, reports a gain in MPG with the SC. I was getting 25 with my Jet 2, but he was reporting 28! Also a CAI is nice for the motor to breath better. I use K&N series 63, but there are others, even one from Mopar. Also, take off your pretty engine cover -- it traps way too much hot air and heat soaks the plastic air intake -- cooler the better here. Sorry to hear about the sunroof problem. Mine fits flush all around -- I'm sure they will get you up and running soon.
Keep us posted about your car and have FUN!

Let me also welcome you to our happy family.
Everyone else has already pretty well answered your questions. It could be that your sunroof was put on aftermarket. As it so happens, I had one put in mine aftermarket and have had lots of problems with it staying adjusted so it sits properly when closed. In fact, Monday morning it goes back to the shop that did it for another adjustment. I'm not sure the factory sun roofs have this problem.
I have the SuperChip (also, as mnboy said, had the JET Stage 2 chip, but finally went with the Superchip). I also have the Mopar Performance CAI, and the dreaded Magnaflow full cat back exhaust. Magnaflow seems to be the worst when it comes to the dreaded HEMI drone. I've heard the others like Borla and Corsa have virtually no drone at all.
With these mods, my car does, indeed, indicate up to 28 mph @ 75-80mph. In town driving - unless I start playing too much - it indicates 23-24. I've had mine up to 110 (about 3 weeks after I got it). I was thinking the speed governer is set according to the tires that are on your car. At any rate, with the SuperChips tuner, you can set your own speed limiter, etc., as others have stated.
At any rate, have fun and be safe out there. OH, one more thing - your car will really start coming alive after about 5,000 miles are on it. Some kind of factory setting limits its potential until then, unless they've changed that on us.

Cool, thanks to everyone on the replies. In response to some of you...Bigfoot: the picture in my avatar was not the exact cruiser I drove, only difference was the plate number...so yes I'm CSP, unfortunately I'm back in a vic. Mango...I looked at your profile and checked out the pics...that hood is SWEET!Where'd you get it and whathow much will something like that run? Everyone...That Superchip everyone is talking about, I have aco-worker who has a 300C that is chipped and he said whenever he takes it to the dealership for anything he has to take it out because it voids the warranty. Is that the case with all chips, just certain ones or was he blowin smoke? This the FIRST car I've ever owned...always had trucks and SUV's before, so knowing it will only get better after 5,000 is cool, mine's at 3,800 right now. I don't seem to be getting the mileage everyone else is talking about though. I've been averaging about 18-19mpg and I've been using 91 octane. I don't know if it's the way I drive it or because it's not totally broke in yet? I tried that 0-60 timer I read about on this site...7.1sec. I'll have to work on that and try again when I get some mods. The fastest I've had it is 130 and I don't see a need to do that againor try for anything faster, but I was suprised at the handling, alot different from 130 in thevic. Thanks again, and I'll let you all know whenI get some mods.
It's a RamAirHood (<= add a .com for their address). 1100.00 I got mine over a year ago and it was a group buy, it came painted w/intake.
Others on the forum have the same hood and they all love it.

Welcome Chargerchic,
I've been heavily looking and reading about a new hood for my R/T. I even have some people working on making custom hoods using an orginal hood. Mango right about the RamAir hoods. If you have any questions these will tell you or help you find out. I been also documenting some of the mods for future reference.

I went to the RamAirHood site and checked them out. You said other peoplein this forum have them too. Do you know of any that have a silverR/T with the hood, so I can check out their pics?
Welcome Chargerchick. You'll find all your answers with this crew, they're top notch. My governer kicked in at 129-130. Other besides light body mods, the only thing I've done so far is a Mopar CAI. I have a Corsa catback system in the shop, havinga littlecustom work doneto it. Since adding the CAI, I noticeda rattle or tap in the top end like the car is running leanjust before going WOT and @ around 2000 rpm during surface street cruising. I think it's the throttle management control. A brother officer that drives a Charger for his agency said theirs does the same thing.I guess w/the CAI it's more pronounced. In as far as the Superchips I understand it's a program that you can install, download your stock setting, upload your performance settings, and when it's time to take the car in for service, reload your stock settings so your warranty can't be voided. No physical part to remove. I was told this by the service manager @ my dealership andread the sameon this forum.Enjoy your Charger.
