Default Hand controls for handicapped question

My wheelchair bound buddy is taking delivery of an 07 R/T and is wondering about hand controls. He plans on fabricating a set that mounts to the pedals but I am curious being that this car has a fly by wire system, can some other type of control be set up. Has anybody seen or heard of aything on this topic. Also, we can make or create just about anything so any ideas would also be apreciated.

There are controls for the shifter that mount on the wheel but I haven't seen anything for the peddles.

I saw a Black SRT-8 Charger with handicapped controls here in Houston. There was a wheelchair holder in a cargo carrier on the roof. It appeared to be "self-deploying". It was a very sweet setup. If I had the option, that sure would be the way to go.
