Default Road & Track package on an RT worth it?

Hi. I'm considering buying a new Charger. I want an R/T. One option is the Road & Track package. This package includes:
[*]Perf. Seats w/Preferred Suede & Accent Stitching[*]Air Conditioning with Dual Zone Auto Temp Control[*]Power Windows w/Front One-Touch Up and Down Feature[*]Heated Front Seats[*]Power Front Seats[*]Automatic Headlamps[*]"R/T" Badge[*]Front Fascia Spoiler[*]Rear Body-Color Spoiler[*]High-Speed Engine Controller[*]Performance Steering[*]Performance Suspension[*]Load Leveling and Height Control[*]245/45VR20 BSW All Season Performance Tires[*]20" x 8" Aluminum Chrome Clad Wheels[*]$3,350

I like speed, but I REALLY like a car that handles very well. I love going on country roads and zipping through turns, so the suspension package is the main option that I want.

So my question is - for those who've driven Chargers with and without the Road & Track package:

1. Does it make a big difference in handling?
2. Is it worth $3,350?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum chp5.

You will like the handling but remember this is a 4000+ pound car. The stock suspension will float a little. Some have traded the cushyride for a rougher performanceride by upgrading the sway bars, coils shock/struts.

I think that package is worth it. The things that I like are: contoured power seats, one-touch window up-down, exterior body effects and wheels.

While not a charger I put 70k on an 05 Magnum. I went to trade it in on a new one when they came out with the lifetime. My salesman buddy just smiled and said you need to test this Charger overnight. The handling is much better with less roll and it just hugs the curves. I probably would havetraded into another magnumhad I not driven that car. It's a little stiffer ride but the seats make up for alot of that. Steering control is a little heavier wich is nice for positive feedback.

If you cantest drive both, putsome time in behind the wheel and then make you desicion. I test drove the RT first , then a Magnum then aJeep. I ended up going back to the RT with the road and track group.

I own a 2007 Charger with the R/T package and i would HIGHLY recommend it. The seats are extremely comfortable the way it handles and looks is just amazing.

I havetheSE 3.5L I'm thinking about trading mine for the R/T the only reason why I want to do that is because there's a few things that come stock on the R/T that I would like for my 3.5 to have such as the dual exhaust, fog lights, dash kit, etc.

I've only had my 3.5 since May thou. Do you think I should just buy the parts which would probably cost at least around 2G's or should I just trade it for the R/T and pay a little bit more a month?

A trade-up depends on your situation and what makes sense to you. How far upside down will you be after a trade.

* * Warning * *
Once you get a R/T you'll get bit by the modding bug

C35l,

Mango's right man. Modding your car is more addicting than crack.

but it seems like all the mods are for the 5.7 and up.

Do you think I should just buy the stuff for my 3.5?

C35L, I have seen this many times with many cars... It is cheaper just to buy the better model, and cherish the feeling, than spend the same amount of money (or more), on endless mods and upgrades, and still have a lesser product. If you want the BFG then buy it. Don't buy the BB gun and soup it up.

My 2 cents.
