CAI & EXHAUST QUESTIONS
hey to all out there !just bought a 2007CHARGER R/Tlast week Finally after owning GM all my life. looking to makesome minor modsto it without breaking the bank. have been reading different posts about cold air intakes and exhaust systems. can anyone give me advice on the K&N CAI #63-1114 systemand the Flowmaster model 17405 exhaust. not looking to run vettes down but want a little more HP & Sound out of my new ride
Welcome 733subvet.
Most here have started with those items (CAI & Catback). Your not going to get much HP out of those two mods but I bet the FM 17405 would be louder than stock.

Subvet,
Welcome aboard!
I bought a 2006 Daytona in January of 2006 and have read lots about what others have done. I'm old school, and sold my 71 Tor-Red Ply 440 4 speed GTX to get my Daytona -- I seriously thought about the SRT8, but didn't like the color choices over the beautiful Mango color. I bought the Jet 2 chip and a K&N series 63 ram air for it right off the bat. I have sincebought a Superchips programmer and sold the Jet 2 chip on Ebay.In the summer of 2006 I put on a Magnaflow Tru-X muffler kit with and 4" chrome reso/mufflertips --I hated it immediately. It was too noisy in the MDS(4 cylinder) modefrom the interior drone. I ripped out theTru-X muffler and replaced itwith the stock suitcase looking muffler, but left the 4" chrome tips on.But I know it would be too quiet for my kids or younger forum members, but I like it.Looks to me like Corsa is the best out there, but it is the most expensive. Borla seems good too, with two different systems. JBA and Flowmaster make systems too. I had Flowmaster (2 chamber 40s) on my GTX and loved it, but it was a ground pounder not a cruiser.
My strongest advise would be to take baby steps since all this stuff is so new and one thingcan change another. I'm a hot-rodder at heart, so I maybe should have bought a Vette. But I love big cars for the ride and comfort andoooh that gorgous Mango paint!
Have fun!
