how long to order a 2008 Charger SRT-8 or Super Bee?
I tried posting this in the SRT forum but I haven't gotten an answer all day. I hope it's okay to post here. I am looking to buy my first new car.
I've been driving tiny little used Toyota or Honda sedans and I want something with performance. I've pretty much settled on the 2008 Charger. I definitely want the SRT-8, maybe the Super Bee. I was doing some online research and I can't find one within 300 miles of where I live.
So, I'm going to have to order one.
So the question is- in the Atlanta market how long would it take to order a SRT-8 with all three option packages? I"m not picky on color. I prefer black and I don't like the silver, but I'm open. Also, if I did decide that I want the Super Bee are they available yet? How long would it take to get one (fully loaded)? I noticed that on Dodge's website you can configure one, but it's not listed on the main charger page under models & colors.
Lastly, what kind of mark-up is there on these cars? I'm assuming that given that these cars are limited editions that there is a premium over MSRP?
Thanks for all you help, this is an awesome board.

It can take anywhere from 1week to 1month to get the car. And I would be very surprised if you payed MSRP for a superbee SRT-8.

How much are they marked up? Are we talking 1 or 2 thousand, or like 5 or 6 thousand? If you go to the "build your own" page and click absolutely everything (I doubt they're built that way) you're already close to 48K, not including taxes. I was hoping to get out the door for no more than 50k. Is that realistic?

The Super Bee is availible in only two colors, Detonator Yellow and the new B5 Blue, the actual name escapes me. The SRT can be had in several colors. Look for an 06 or 07and you will get a better deal on a new one. They will want to get rid of it to get the 08 in and make you pay BIG for it.
I can`t help you on the delivery time but I know someone who ordered a Plum Crazy SRT and didn`t take him long at all to get it. But that was in Texas.

I have a 2007 Bee that a bought this April and they only come in the Det.Yellow. The plum crazy color was a show color only and not for public sale. They only made 1000 in 07 and none in 06. I don't know about 08. I thought Dodge was going to turn out the Challenger and drop the Bee but check on that. I live in Ohio and was able to to pay below retail for mine. They are hard to find. I have only seen one otherone besides mine in PA but saw 2 for sale earlier this year in Auto Trader . Weather you buy a Bee or a Charger SRT8 you'll love it. The Bee does turn heads. Good luck.

Hey, just picked mine up yesterday. The yellow was 07. The blue is 08 Super Bee only. The purple was available in 07 and they only made 300 but not in the super bee. The sticker was 46,057 my final price was 41,194 before taxes with employee discount.mine has Everything but the rear tv/dvd entertainment system. The charger SRT is the only SRT they will deal on. I live 60 miles north of detroit, mi. My little dealer didnt have one but got it from a detroit dealer in two days.Good luck
Why wait? Find one within a days drive and take a nice roadtrip back to break it in. They arent being marked up in my area and there are several in the Sacramento California area fully loaded at 47500. One thing about if you order I believe you aren't eligible for any factory incentives. If you do the vehicle search after the "build your own" you can change the city you are searching to widen your search radius. Some dealers will try to mark-up the vehicle but they don't all do it. If you want to look just for kicks at the Fulsom Lake Dodge site they have three and you can read the full window sticker on them. I livein themetro Atlanta area, in Conyers. The local stealer ship, Town & Country Dodge, has(2)2008 Superbees in the light blueplus a variety of R/T'sincluding the Daytona in Hemi Orange. I went to get my oil changed the other dayand the next thing I know I was driving the Superbee. They had the car $7000 above invoice. A lot of $$$$$$. To rich for my blood. Anyway, he said he would knock off the mark up and give it to me at invoice. Your right Randall, $45000 fully loaded with the entertainment center in the back. I love the performace of the car but not the price. I have got an 06' Daytona with 21000 miles, excellent condition. He said that he would give me 19500 for my car on trade-in. Could not get away from the guy! My trade-in ($19550) and 0% interest would cost me $495 a month for 60 months. As I said, to rich for my blood and my car is paid for. The hell with more car notes!
