Default UPDATE! Predator buy

OK, I heard back and the cost of the "package" to make the Predator work is $27.50. Add that to the initial cost of the Predator, and you get a total price of $336.50. Shipping for both is free! Seems like a pretty good price.

F/Y/I - I also e-mailed the folks at Flashpaq Super Chips inquiring about updating the SC to compete with the Predator. Their response -

"We do plan on adding some custom tuning options. We just don’t have anything at this point. Rest assured, there will be some changes made to the tuners."

The folks at SC have been pretty good and helpful, but this reply is, to me anyway, kind of vague.

I need to paste in the link to the Predator folks, and will try and do that and "edit" this post.

OK, here's the link (I hope) to the Predator folks:

I remember when the SuperChip first came out they made that promises... custom tunes, but nothing has ever come from that.

Diablo has delivered what they promissed and more withing a month of being released to the public. It seems SuperChips just left the building with undelivered promises on the table.

Perhaps they've "made their money back" on developing it since they were the first out, and now are just sitting back on their laurels. I'm not holding my breath.

Randall, do you think that if I removed the "suit case" portion of the Magnaflow and just ran straight pipe back to the "mufflers" at the tail end that that would get rid of the dreaded "Hemi drone"? Short of getting a whole new exhaust system, what do you think you'd do?

Don't know, if the current suit case is restricting flow and it's ripped out the drone mayincrease. Just planing the other side here

I haven't studied what others are doing on this but prior to the Corsa I replaced my muffler once and it didn't change the drone but I lost low end torque. I never ran w/oa suite case of some kind. It's darn impossible to get a "real" feeling of a change without making the change and driving it around.

Short answer is I don't know off hand, but would suspect it would drone more.

Thanks, Randall. I appreciate your candor. I guess I should have waited a bit before plunking down my hard earned money on the Magnaflow. That's why I'm hesitant to go a head and order the Predator, too.

Dave, you might want to check these out. A person on another forum had drone issues and got a "3-disk" version and took care of their drone issue.

The last Superchips tune that I loaded about 3 months ago actually felt as though it slowed my car down. I have not touched it since then. HAL seems to have recovered on his own. I was very disappointed.
I had one of the first SC tuners and went through a few iterations of tunes, and they did get better with time. But Dodge must have loaded some new firmware in my car during an oil change or something, and now the car runs great without the SC.
Hmmm...

I have to remove my recommendation for Super Chips products for the 5.7liter.

Please post detailed results of the Diablo, I may upgrade to it depending on verfiable results.
