Default Clearshield Installation

Well I just broke the bank on a 2008 Dodge Charger RT and was looking at some preventive options available to me. There is a local dealer that installs an 8mil Clearshield to the front end to help protect it from road debris. The owner has it installed on his infiniti and I can hardly tell it is on...and both of are cars are white. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this...I have searched elsewhere and as with anything that are a equal amount of both pros and cons. The kit covers the entire front facing and about the first 10 inches of the hood. I dropped alot of cash (for me that is) on this car and I would like to do anything I can to protect my investment.

Thanks in advance!

Duplicolor makes a product called "Shield" Simmit Racing part # shw-bp100 and shw-bp200 one is clear the other black. It is a temporary coat that goes on to protect from rocks and stuff. They claim it is not effected by rain snow and such but will wash off with soap and water. It goes for $7.95 per can and would be a cheap date assuming it works.

its kind of a hit or miss type thing with this product i see it as a debris catcher sometimes you get build up from the roadaround the clearshield and this will scratch your paint so do you just save your money for something else or buy this and take it off in a couple of years and hate yourself for putting it on andhaving a scratch line all the way around the shield.
food for thought.
