Default How Do You Turn Off The Interior Dome Lights

I've been trying to figure out how to turn off the dome light in my charger cause I'm use to not having it on when I open the doors. I prefer it not to come on when I open the doors. Does anyone know how to turn the dome light off? Is there a switch somewhere?

Roll down the dim light **** locted next to the headlight ****. If you roll it all the way down the dome light will not come on when you open the door. But if you use your headlight the interior lights (for the radio and the speed controls will be at their darkest. You will need to roll the dim **** back up to make the light in the radio and speed controls bright again.

you should be able to unbolt the switch in the door jamb and un-plug it. That should keep the dome light off and your dash lights will still be bright, instead of turing the brightness **** all the way down. You also will not have to listen to the anoying beeping sound when the door is open.

The dimmer switch has a detent at the top end that will keep them on at al times, AND a lower detent that will turn them off at all times. Most Dodges are this way.

If they will not shut off, then you may have a door ajar switch issue which means the whole door latch will have to be replaced. Possibly even a broken wire in the door jamb.

AN experiment you can do...close the doors and start the car, turn on the radio (factory), shut the car off and open the door. If the radio does not go off when you open the door then your door ajar switch on drivers front is probably bad.

Default Interior Lights

With ignition off, door open, the interior lights remain on for approximately 10 min then will shut off automatically.
