Default Exhaust Mods

Ok, so i don't have a charger yet... is it too soon to already want to modify it...

Anyway, one of the most important mods i want (esp with the rem i want) is true dual exhaust

My thoughts were dual flowmasters (instead of Borla)

Anyone have any suggestions, or maybe a guestimate at how much an upgrade like this would cost?

(Want the charger with the 3.5l v6)

We had some old threads on this topic but I found their out of date.

Zoomers was one of the few that had a "true dual" exhaust for the 3.5. I hven't keept up with it so the number of vendors offering duals for the 3.5 have probably grown .Give me a little time to research what's available and I'll post back.

The cost depends alot on you, do you plan to install it yourself? If you don't do it yourself a good mechanic can installed a catback in an hour, so plan on paying for a hour of labor and some overhead for the shop facility.

Hopefully some others will chime in on this subject.

I am pretty sure Magnaflow and Flowmaster have dual exhaust for the 3.5 also. I am going to the local exhaust shop to see what they can do for me but I am only looking at swapping out the muffler/resinator with Magnaflow parts. Along with a cold air intake I am hoping to pick a few miles per gallon and a little performacne ith improved sound quality.

I couldn't find anything on flowmasters site, they probably have CATBacks for the 3.5 but their search feature is limited.

Magnaflow has part #16936 for the 3.5L. From the picture they had posted it wasn't "true dual". Same w/Borla. Both systems hook into the OEM single pipe with a Y out to the duals.

From what I saw Zoomers has a "ture dual".

I have a few local friends that have done what your talking about, swaping out the muffler/reso with dual third party parts and they are happy with the results. It took a local muffler shop around an hour to transform their exhaust into dual (choping the OEM muffler & adding aftermarket).

Good luck with that project!

Check out Blastin Bob's stuff on blastinbob.com, he makes quality parts.

Early on I chopped the resos at the rear and stuck on Blastin Bob's 11db tailpipes. They were a bit loud for me but something like that on the SXT might work for you. He has a SXT kit that splits the OEM pipe with a Y and comes out duals at the tailpipe.
