Default Brakes / Tie Rods

I'm looking for some advice. I've got an 06 RT with 48K miles. I've got 3 bad Tie rods and the one remaining was replaced at 36K. Has anyone else had early tie rod were? The dealer says they are fine except 1 but the shop I take my car to says I need 3. I've known these guys all my life and they actually sent me out the door to go talk to doge about getting them cover some of the cost so they were not just trying to puch me into something I don't need.

I've also got unusual brake ware. The rears are 90% worn and the front pads are only 50%. Additionally, my rotors feel like they are total crap. I've never been happy with them. Any thoughts on the early ware or reccommendation on better brakes rotors, calipers etc. I'm not looking to blow a big bank roll I just want good brakes.

There have been issues w/bad rotors and tie rods. I've been lucky and haven't had issues with either... yet.

Check out IXLR8's new roters/padson this thread https://dodgeforum.com/m_1159407/tm.htm see post 7.

I've seen some pictures of the worn/cracking OEM tie rod bushings... their ugly.

Pedders makes some great bushing replacement parts including the tie rod. Dave started a thread some time ago on Pedders, I believe he put their springs/struts/shocks on his RT. Their getting good reviews andareselling moreof their LX (Charger/300/Magie) products.

Yes, I had their springs on (that's all - not their struts or shocks) and they did improve the handling, but not so much the ride. Lowered the car about 1.5 inches all the way around, and it looked really wicked! Just this past weekend, I put the stock springs and new, Monroe shocks and struts on. Made a world of difference - not what I'm really wanting, but much better than before. From what others have said on here, I think my struts must have been bad from the factory, but getting the dealer to agreeis, of course, something else. My thoughts are, still, that the spring rates are all wrong for these cars.

Having said that, Pedders has, I believe, a complete bushing kit to replace just about everything, front to rear. Peter, the president of the U.S. part of the company (they are out of Australia) has been really a great guy to work with. Check out their web site.

I had my tie rods replaced about a month ago with under 17K on the car. Warranty took care of the repair. I have now noticed that I have some shutter when braking (rotors) would this also be covered under warranty? I have now just over 17K on my car.

Default rotor maintenance

i paid for all my rotor cutting as the dealer advised that wear is not covered. i had similar problmes with the brakes, complained, and they gave me one free one. later discounted the rotors and newer performance pads.
