Default charger pricing?

Hum... I can buy a fully loaded mustang GT, or a Impella SS, a Nissan maxima cheaper than a R?T charger.. I priced thease cars out in Calgary Alberta.

I like the Charger (Challenegr is out of reach $$$$ ) but what the hell is dodge/Chrysler doing, I can buy a = car for less money.

It sounds like you have done some leg work in your area. I haven't been in the market for a car nor have studied prices in my area but here are some thoughts.

The Mustang GT being a 2 door and lacking the interior room of the LX or LY platform, it may suite the single crowd.

The Maxima is a good rival but lacks the HP.

I haven't compared the Impalla SS so have no opinions.

Personally I got the Charger for the interior room, body style and performance, it's a well rounded car.

I hope you don't bring up parts and modding costs LOL MOPAR is the most expensive

I don't consider any of those cars that you listed as equals to the Charger.

First off, what are you looking for in a car? Like Mango mentioned, the Charger is a great all around car. You get HP, comfort, and use all in on.

The Maxima is not even in the same class as the charger. That is just your everyday midsized sedan. The Stang and the Impala are somewhat comparable, but still way off. The Charger has more HP than both, more interior space than both (head room and leg room), better styling (IMHO), & more trunk space. All those play a huge factor into pricing. On top of that, Ford turns out THOUSANDS more mustangs a year for sale because it is such a popular vehicle, and the Impala SS was a nice thought, but a huge miss to the buyers. You want an SS down here, you have to have one brought in, none in stock.

There are a couple of other things that make the Charger worth what it is but they are little things like the upholstery and stereo set up and the fact the transmission was borrowed from Mercedes E class.

All these things make the Charger what it is worth. You are pretty much comparing apples to oranges with that short list you have there.

If you are unsure about anything with the charger, ask away and Mango and I will answer anything that you may have.

I really like the charger, but I'm observing its a car That's in its in ball park, Dealer sets the price. H/P wise the hemi may put out more pony's than a mustang, but its not faster than a mustang, but its more practical.

I don't like FWD, THe impella ss is a hot ticket, but it has no where the comfort level of the charger or 300C.

If dodge still made the mangum, I would buy it with out price worrying.

Just for kicks I drove a mustang GT with a manual, as a ex ford guy now a anti Ford guy I was please with the performance of the mustang, But I concur the Charger is more my style of car ...

The Charger R/T is faster than a Stock GT. You would have to get a GT with the Shelby or the Bullet package to keep up with or beat a stock charger. The only thing that the GT beat the Charger at was braking and cornering. That would be a given with the GT being much lighter.

I was the same way. The only one that I could find new was a DEMO model about 400 miles away and it was an SRT model. I did not want to take the time to drive that far to look at it and since it was a small dealership, I did not even ask about having it brought to me.

Odd.. I drove a used a 05 R/T charger, and I loved the ride and handeling, But I can't say that it would out acclerate The 08 mustang GT 5sp I last drove, A mustang is by far a lighter car and I love manual transmissons.

I like the Charger and I know's thier never ever going to be a manual option, the challenger is to much price for what I consider to be a two door charger, I have my hemi 6sp 2500 so a Charger is going to be a highway crusier, drop the gas and Go!!!

For now I just wait out the pricing ...

The stock Mustang GT and Charger RT are very closely matched; it's really a driver’s race. The Mustang does get a slight margin due to it being a lighter 2 door and the Charger has a slight margin on HP.

Funny, I just found out the grand prix and bonyvile are no longer made by pontiac, I really liked those cars, even thow thier FWD.. Than I found Out thiers a G8, a rwd, is this the replacement for the GTO? ( Not sold in Canada due to bumper laws ) I going to test drive a G8, if I can fit in the front seat ...

I'm evening thinking abought a Charger with the 3.5, Even when I'm moving in my 2500, trafic is still slow, I'm beganing to qustion If I have the discipline to driving a Hotter car than my hemi truck...

Perhaps a manual transmisson adds to the illusion of being quicker, Ford did ok with the retro look on the mustang, but the 010 ponys are step back in styling..
