Default Charger Daytona

Hi Guy's
I'm kind of a newbe here, at least to this area of the forum.
I need a little advise or input from people familiar with the Dodge Charger.

I am thinking about buying a used Dodge Charger Daytona but I was wondering, do they all have moonroofs (sunroofs). I have yet to find one without one. I have worked on cars/trucks all my life so I know the basic stuff to look for but, Is there anything that I should watch out for in terms of any common problems the Charger may have.

Also, does anyone here on the forum know of any for sale in So. CA.

Thanks for any advise or input you may have.
Dennis

Welcome to the forum V10Dodger.

There are a few issues, most R/T & Daytona's would develop a transmission leak and the trunk would rub on the rear deck.

Not all Chargers have moon/sun roofs, keep looking you will find one.

Do you have a Viper or RAM SRT10?

Thanks for the info Mango!
I have found some R/T's without the moon roof, but I think every Charger Daytona I've seen has had one.

No Viper or SRT10, just a 99 Ram 8800GVW, 2500, short bed 4X4 with a V10.
It's a great tow vehicle! It will pull a house, but won't pass a gas station.

LOL I can understand about not being able to pass a gas station but I bet it's fun to drive.

I checked dodge.com and the power sun roof is optional on the Daytona.

You are right, it is fun to drive. It has a K&N cold air intake and a set of Edelbrock mid length (TES) headers. The combination of those definatly helped performance of the V10. Big surprise to the guy next to you when he tries to gutter snake you.

Thanks for the info on the sun roof. I think the dealers probably order the cars for their inventory with sun roofs so they can jack the price. I personally just don't like them. I'm not in a big hurry to get a Charger. I guess the right one will come along someday.

Thanks again!
Dennis
