Are you looking for just a yes/no answer here?

or are you looking for: Can it be done, what's it sound like, or something else?

I've seen it on a few 3.5s, they all saw MPG improve and the sound was great.

was just talking with the guy that has done exhaust work on my ram and another truck about doing duals on the wifes charger. he said he could do a y pipe and then two magnaflow's and tips for around $300-350. but not sure how its going to sound.

The 3.5 has a decent tone, but I have yet to hear what the 2.7 sounds like.

there are so many units under the car, do you have to duplicate the new side for it to stay fairly quiet , or can you take some of the resonators off?

You kinda confused me with how you worded that.

Do you want it to stay quiet or do you want noise?

I'll answer both ways.

If you want to keep the quiet, just have an exhaust shop fab something with 2 pipes after the muffler to come out the back. This way you get the look of the dual exhaust but still maintain the quiet touring effect from the 2.7. This would also be the cheapest way because you can have the exhaust guy use aluminum on the pipes, then get some nice stainless tips for show.

Now if you want more of a rumble out of the 2.7. Then yes remove the resos and install better flowing muffler. If you do this, then your exhaust guy will take care of getting a 1 in 2 out muffler so you will have the same sound out both sides. Pretty much the same as they would do on your Ram.

I was going to do duals, but the shop wanted 600 installed. So I went with a Flowmaster Super 40 and removed the muffler and resonator and just put in the Super 40 and it sounds bad ***. And I have a 3.5 L. That was 189 installed. So I saved over half and it sounds good enough for me.
