I know you all use the Diablo for performance but has anyone used it for fuel economy? Does it come with any canned tunes for ecomomy?
Just wondering as gas prices are getting back up there and 16.5 mpg (highway or city doesnt matter) is a little taxing.

I'm also looking at the Hypertech Max Energy E-Con. Granted this only has a canned flash for two octains I'm not really going to do any radical mods to this engine to need a custom tune. If I do a cold air setup and get rid of the suitcase muffler that will probably be it.

Its the best car I've ever owned just wishing for better mpg.

 

Saw your post and thought I would give you some info that may help.

The Max Energy Econ P/N 53002 will only do Reg 87 Octane tune and DTC Codes

If your 2006 is like my 2008 R/T the factory recommended 89 Octane.
By "re-tuning for 87 I was able to save the cost difference between the two.
My "average" MPG savings was only .8 to 1.2 over stock but others have reported more and some less.
I do not change my driving style to try and get more as some do *
(Takes the fun out of it)
If you want the other features and the Prem. tune you need the Max Energy

Yes the DIablo does in one of their tunes,If you plan on doing any MODS like a cam or anything like that Diablo is the way to go

Hey Baldyloxs I was hoping the Diablo had at least one canned. I dont think I'm going to get too nuts with the Charger only because I've got a '86 Monte SS that I've been doing a frame off resto on thats going to be my 'toy'. BTW congrats on the stroker. I dig the Static-X playing in the backround of the video LoL!

Just yesterday this guy was jerking me around on the interstate coming home from work. I'm doing about 80 in the left lane and this guy in a 2000ish Stang just decides I'm going too fast and has to get in front of me and there was no way around this idiot. Well I was nice for about a mile or two but I started getting closer and closer as my patience wore thin. Finally he gets past the crowd but doesnt get over and by this time my wife has had enough and says 'just pass him!' well by time she says pass he was already in my mirror try to catch me and fading fast. C'ya. I went back to doing 80 and he stayed in the left lane but way back lol.

For a stock car its a hell of a lotta fun to drive.
Just be carful with the spray. Seen plenty of guys melt there motors with that stuff.

 

Ill prob never spray it Id like to try it once,its prob like CRACK .... I wish I could get someone that wants to mess around but they dont....Maybe I ought to put a 6.4 badge on it and see what happens?

 

Hell if turbos werent 6 grand I'd do that in a heartbeat. But I'd never trust the juice.
