Default 2008 Charger Engine ticking

I have a 2008 Charger. At idle or stopped at a light, I hear a loud ticking noise from the engine. Sounds like lifters. I took it back to the place I bought and to a Dodge dealer and they both said this is normal engine noise. Could that be true? It doesn't make sense that a loud ticking noise is normal. Any have any ideas?

It is the 3.5L high output engine.

Welcome to the forum Ritter555.

Safe to say it's not a HEMI tick

Anyhew, back to the subject. You have done your due-diligence. Make sure you have a copy of that service ticket with their response just in case it developes into something bad.

Nothing worse than an engine that sounds like a sloppy sweing machine!

Until you put the 3.5L part in there, we had a answer. Since it is not the Hemi, not sure. Keep the paperwork like Mango mentioned. I've been in a couple 3.5's and never heard the "tick".
