Wife wants a charger! (Just got the Charger!)
Hey everyone,
I ran across this thread and wanted to congratulate you stonebase, on getting everything sorted out and getting into an awesome car!
Secondly, don’t beat yourself up too much BadStratRT. I believe I read before that you got the Stratus R/T with the automatic transmission because of knee problems at the time. The SRT-4 only comes with a manual transmission, so you might not have been able to get it anyway.
Well that’s it. I’ll be around if you have anything else to say.

Picked it up last night. OMG, never had so much fun driving a car off the lot. It handles like a dream and the wife is thrilled.

Congrats stonebase! I'm glad you and your wife enjoy the Charger. Might as well kill some Mustangs since you've got that V8 =)

Congrats on the pick-up. Nice to get it so quick!
I can't tell from the Charger Build site. Does that come standard with the Autostick? I have been curious to hear how it feels if you have it?

Hello wildbill,
All 2006 Dodge Chargers come with the 5-speed Autostick®. It has different software than the Chrysler 300C and the Dodge Magnum R/T that allows you to hold the gears longer, and give it a more spirited drive. If you have any questions while doing a build and price there’s a Click to Talk feature that allows you to talk to one of the Representatives here at the Dodge Information Center.
Hope this helps,
John B.

Wildbill - To be honest my wife has driven the Charger to work all week and I haven't been behind the wheel since the night we picked it up. We've got some travel plans this weekend so it should be a good opportunity to try it out! I'll let you know how it works out!
All - Congrats on getting out of the Pacifica... I have an 06 R/T (Midnight Blue) and IT ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I knocked off my first 05 Pony/GT a few nights ago, in a red-light race, in which I left him at leat a 100 yrds behind after a 1/4. I will attribute it to him probably not knowing how to handle his manual tranny. It should have been closer. You do not pull up next to a Hemi Charger in a Pony w/flames down the side, rev your engine, and expect to be unnoticed. At first I was afraid I would get a ticket, since this light was only 1 Block from the County Courthouse/Jail/Police Station... But there was NO WAY this Pony was going to get the best of this Charger....
As far the Autostick goes, its nice to know its been performance tuned for the Charger. I have played with it and it is fun. It just may be that these type transmissions will become the manuals of the future. I love driving this car... and the looks are everywhere...
Kudos to Diamler, they built a winner!
One more thing, one of the best things about a Charger is adding to it/personalizing it. There are so many accessories and add-ons out there, it's like buying a well built kit. What you do with it is up to your imagination... Let it roll!
