Default 2009 Police Package Question

Iv bene looking for a bit and cant find info.. SOOO!
Here i am.

I have a double din dvd system in my cruzer in place of the stock stereo, Problem is when i turn the new stereo on my display cluster all dies and all my warning lights come on saying every problem with the car exists and i get no bus showing on the display.. When i turn the stereo off it all comes back on.. What wires did i not connect that is making this happen?
I used this same radio in another car and was fine (Not a charger)

Did the same set up i did for that and not working to well for this one.. Also the sound is crappy.. i dont think it is getting power from the stock amp either.

If someone could post a wire diagram of the stereo wires n such that would be super helpfull

There is a bypass wire kit that needs to be installed on the dodge vehicles, unlike other cars. You're new to the forum, and welcome, however one thing that is said time and time again here is that on Dodge vehicles, EVERYTHING is connected to the computer for data. So, when an aftermarket radio is installed, there is an additional harness that has to be installed somewhere to fool the computer that there is a radio there communicating with it. I think it is called the canbus bypass. This is where you problem most likely is.

Sorry, I don't have a wire diagram for you. Whenever I change out my radios, even though I have the knowledge to do it, I always have a garage do it in case there is ever a problem, they are liable and cover anything under warranty.

So in short, if you hooked up the radio, or had a friend do it, and the only harness you added was the actual wiring harness for the speakers in the back, you will need to get the bypass harness as well. This might also fix the amp problem as well. Since the computer isn't reading the radio data correctly, it might be preventing the amp from turning on for safety reasons.

I don't know the specs of the harness so I can't tell you anything about that. I can tell you though that when I had Best Buy do my install last time, the harness was $24. I don't even know where it plugged in to for it to work.

I checked with them last week and they said it was 300 bucks.. I was like YEAH! Im sure a WIRE HARNESS is that much..
Ebay has them plus a little electronic device for 80 bucks.

Or maybe these stereo guys were just the dumbest **** heads in the building?

Any idea of a part number or what i can ask best buy for?

Holy crap!!!! That isn't right. LOL!!! My entire install including the 2 harnesses and the dash kit was only around $80.

I have to goto work now, but I will look later when I get home. Unless someone pops in here before I do to take care of this.

Pin 2 and 13 are definite no-nos. They are the BUS wires. Don't use them.
You're probably shorting your BUS when you power up.
