Once I drove the 8 speed, I didn't even consider one of the leftover 2011s on the lot. It's a must have option on any V6 Charger, it is that smooth. It almost feels like you are driving a V8 as it always seems to be in the right powerband for acceleration. It's a bit slow on the takeoff, but once it get gets a few RPM going it pulls hard until you hit the speed limiter at around 115mph.

Sports mode works pretty good too; it ups your target RPM for the tranny, so you have more power instantly available in your pedal. And for real fun, get a sports package with the paddle shifters. They got that perfect.

Once they mate the 8 speed tranny with the Hemi, the R/T and SRT8 world is going to explode. We are never gonna hear the end of it, lol.

That is just amazing pulling 32.1 mpg better than I get on my 4 cyl Acura TSX. I live in N. Utah...I know the drive in I-15 and there are stretches you can haul ***!

I may have to give that v6 a chance. Got my heart set on a hemi powered charger one day when the green god smiles upon me though.

So I've had mine car for 38 days now and driven over 5k miles. Two days ago I drove from eastern Idaho to Oklahoma City taking the Yellowstone route down thru northern Colorado by all the nice ski resorts dropping down into Denver and heading east thru Kansas. It Was a 1380 mile journey I had to fuel only 3 times and arrived with half a tank left. It took 23 hours and I drove straight thru. My average was about 28 to 29 mpg and that's with the car completelt loaded down with wedding gifts and suit cases.

I used the paddle shifters and sport mode thru the mountains in Colorado on the steep grades and it ran fantastic. I was having so much fun I stopped giving a **** if I got a ticket or not lol.

Have to love those kind of rides. I remember when I did that when I bought my Ram Megacab a few years back. Trip from Florida to Pennsylvania and back. Was so much fun.
