Default a/c blend doors

07 charger

Trying to help my brother n law with a/c. My only experience has been replacing compressor, dryer and evacuating system on a focus and pulling dash on a friends jeep to get to the compressor to replace.

Brother n law tells me the drivers side vent blows cold. the passenger side is blowing not cold, just warm.

Can a recallibration of the blend doors be done. I know on caravans it can be done?

Are there two blend doors one for passenger and one for drivers vents?

Is it worth, disconnecting battery for possible reset?

If door is stuck open partially can it be wedged to block out the warm air.

Any tips? Thanks for trying in advance.

does it have a dual zone climate control?
blowing cold on one side only is usually result of low freons. Try a recharge. And common failure on older chargers are Evaporator core. So be ready to pull the Dash again.

Hey, steak, thanks allot for your time. Never considered the low freon thought hmmm. will check it out.

its late tonight, don't want to call him if sleeping. i will see if he has a dual system. if so then what would i be looking for that could have created the problem on the passenger side? we live in s. florida, therefore needing heat is not a problem.

would looping the hose from the heater core under the hood prevent the warn air from mixing with the cold, therefore getting a cold tempertature as desired.

thanks again

For some reason, only the Charger does that, most cars I've came across would just flat out not blow cold on both side. Probably have to do with the air distribution pluming.

He doesn't have dual a/c system. I wonder if there is one blend door per vent?

I will check pressure on low side tomorrow. i only have a hose for low side. maybe it is low but don't understand have a bit low on 134 could cause cold on one side and warm on the passenger vent.

would removing heater hoses going to fire wall and into heater core by looping them into one another prevent the warm air from mixing with any air coming from evaporator to the passenger side?
