Borla Exhaust for 2006 Charger

RE: Borla Exhaust for 2006 Charger
I've hear Borla externally but I haven't driven in a car w/it.
The Corsa are notgoing to be as loud when you startup or when your cursing around but when you step on it they sound mean.
I tried several exhaust variants fromchopping the resos to different mufflers fighting the drone monster all the way. I haven't had any issues with the Corsa Catback so I'm one happy camper.

RE: Borla Exhaust for 2006 Charger
Question here...has anyone installed their own exhaust?!?! I just read the following directions from Corsa http://www.corsaperf.com/install300CMagChrg.pdfand it sounds WAY to easy. There has to be more to it than this...From what I am reading, I can do this myself and don't need an exhaust show to charge me $200 bones to install my exhaust. Any input would be great.
Thanks in advanceguys

Not sure on the Corsa install but I put my Borla 125 on in my driveway in much less than two hours with about 1/2 hour just messing with the tips to get them just right. I backed the car on to a set of 10 inch tall ramps and the install was way easy. Man handling the old exhaust was the hardest part because it weighs close to 90 lbs and is two bigpieces and a little awkward with the longest piece being about 12 ft long. Two nuts two clamps and you are done pocket the $200.

Thanks for the info on your install. After reading the install directions, I was thinking to myself I can do it myself and not have to have the damn exhaust people steal my money. If anyone else has done their own I'd like to hear. Thanks again blue.

A good percentage of folks here have done their own. If you have a jack and jack stands it's a piece of cake.
Jackup the rear, support w/jack stands.
Take the middle crossmember off (4 nuts).
Loosen the clamps between the midpipesand x-pipe.
I put a jack stand under the muffler for supportand took the bolts off of it.
Take offthe mounts for therubber couplers at the rear and take the front ones off.
Slide the assembly out.
Reverse the steps putting the new catback on.
Use a little antiseize on the clamp bolts just in case you need to take them off again, it makes it a bunch easier.
Some take it to a shop to have the joints welded. I just had mine spot welded for a donation to the shopworker that did the welding... $20 was more than enough to make everyone happy.

Why does everone buy expensive "exhaust systems"? Why not cut off the stock mufflers and put on something a bit louder like a pair of DynoMax mufflers? I used to have a 2002 TA and it was too quiet for me so we bought a 20-30 dollar Dynomax muffler (only needed one for the cheesy fake dual exhaust) and another 60-70 dollars for a little labor and some new tail pipes. Do you really need to purchase a high dollar "kit"??
