Default 2006 Charger R/T T-stat swap

Am running the stock t-stat but want to swap for a 180 or a 190 due to high temps (215-219) city. Can it just be swapped with no complications? What is recommended? All stock only have a CAI.

Very simple, just remove the water neck, have a plastic bag to help catch coolant that will drain out. When done you "may" need to bleed the coolant reservoir by loosing the cap.

I'd recommend looking at the JET 180° thermostat, good quality product.

So just swap out? I heard that fans needed to be reprogramed! Is that true?

Being a stock motor, I wouldn't worry about setting the low/high fan settings.

I have the 180° t-stat manufactured by JET, prior to internal performance modifications, the 180° held the 185° temp pretty consistent. If you were to purchase a Diablo In-tune, Trinity, or Predator (oldest version), you could adjust the settings.
