Try checking the oil level?

Nelle191978,

Is the knocking heard every time you start the engine? Does the noise disappear at any point, or is it constant?

It makes the sound every time I start my car and it eventually stops.

How many miles on your car?

You may just be hearing valve clatter, til it gets oil pressure to the top of the motor. You may also be hearing timing chain slap.

What are you using for oil? 2.7s are very picky.
