Default 2007 Dodge Charger keyfob will not work

My keyfob will not work on my car. I had it check and it is transmitting and I put a new battery in it but it still will not work...Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

How long has this been occurring? Do you notice any specific conditions when this does occur?

Also, be sure that there are no other signal-emitting devices nearby, like a cell phone, GPS device, etc. that could be interfering with the fob's signal.

As Jack asks, please provide some background info. You just buy the car and discover this? Has it worked fine for years and now doesn't? The more detailed information you can provide, the better we can assist instead of back and forth with questions. Welcome to the forum.

I have had the car since December of this year, bought used from Police. It worked fine and then just stopped the other day. I took it to a non Dodge dealership and they said it was transmitting and I had already put a new battery in it. It will not lock, unlock, open truck or panic. It is not a remote start car. I thought it might be the fuse but the car did not come with a manual so I do not know which fuse is the one for the remote. It not work anywhere, not just at home.

This concern occurs consistently, not intermittently, correct?

It has completely stopped unlocking and locking, not on again off again. Keyfob is transmitting and has a new battery.

Hmmm. If it were intermittent there may be some troubleshooting you could do, but if it's completely stopped functioning I would recommend having a FCA/Dodge dealership diagnose this for you. If you would like assistance scheduling an appointment, feel free to reach out to me through PM.

I have talked to Dodge in Cornelius, NC and as soon as my new fobs come in they are going to program them for me but I have on last question: is there a fuse for the remote system and if so which one because my car did not have a manual when I bought it so I do not know which number fuse to check. It was an undercover police car before I got it, guess they took the manual out and never put it back.

There are a few different fuses that could be related to what you're experiencing. I would recommend just letting the dealership handle the full diagnosis, but the fuse information relevant to your concerns is below. All of these fuses are in the REAR power distribution center.

- Cavity 14; Mini Fuse 10 Amp Red; AC Heater Control/Cluster/Sentry Key Remote Keyless Entry

- Cavity 30; Mini Fuse 10 Amp Red; Door Modules/Power Mirrors - if equipped/Steering Control Module

- Cavity 35; Mini Fuse 5 Amp Orange; Amplifier - if equipped/Antenna/Ignition Delay/Overhead Console/Passenger Door Lock AND Express Power Window Switch - if equipped/Power Mirrors - if equipped/Rain Sensor - if equipped/Rear Defrost
