Default 2010 Charger R/T charging system. Please help!!

My 2010 Charger has the 5.7L HEMI in it and I am having a real head thumper here. A few weeks ago my car lost all power and left me stranded. No big deal. Well I get it home and went to work on it. Found out that the alternator has gone out. Again no problem. Replace it twice due to the first one was bad. Car doing the same thing. Had the alternator tested both before I installed it and after installed. Had battery test twice, it's good. Battery is brand new only three months old. I am not getting voltage to my battery or anywhere for that matter. When car runs it runs off the battery and drains it down pretty quick. What am I missing? Is there something else I need to check? Really can't afford to take it in at this point in time. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Two things. First is the 2 wire connector on the back of the alternator. I've had many that have had a broken wire INSIDE the insulation, right by one of the terminals. Make sure you have good contact.

Second is the PCM. The voltage regulator is on the PCM ckt board.

Thank you for the advice!!! I'm not real familiar with these new computer in today's cars. Where is the PCM located? Is this something I can check or do I need to take it in? Thanks again for your help!!

I would at least get it diagnosed by a shop. The PCM will also have to be done by a dealer because of the security programming.

Isn't here a fuse or fusible link between the alternator and battery? It's in the PDC in my truck. Just so I understand, you are not getting any voltage from your alternator, right?

Correct. All electrical is running the battery directly. Alternator isn't putting out voltage like it should. Where would fuse link be located?

It has one. Should be inline on the starter BAT cable. Could be in the alt cable. It usually takes a hell of a smoke check to do them in!

Ecreed:
As TNech said, the PCM is involved with alternator operation on may newer cars.
You may find that the PCM is covered under the 8/80 emissions warranty (if your Charger has less than 80K miles.)
A free fix at your local dealer is always nice.
