Unhappy Recent intermittent problems with AC

I have a 2011 Charger R/T AWD. There there is nothing like an intermittent problem that drives me crazy. So I am reaching out for any help/guidance.

Over the last two weeks, twice when I have started the car, the air conditioner refused to engage. The first time it happened, I kept turning on and off the AC and even shut off the engine. Eventually I just rolled down the windows and continued my drive. A few miles down the road, the AC kicked in and all was good. About 10 days later, the same thing happened when I started my vehicle. The AC would not blow cold air initially and then after driving for a while it did.

Is this a clutch slipping? Or the accessory belt? Any experiences with this? Thoughts?

THANKS in advance,

David

Trick would be to have a look when it's NOT working, and see if the clutch is engaged at all.
