Dodge Charger The Dodge Charger. The car that made its competitors shiver in the 60's is reborn in 2006 into a sleek sedan that can still send the competition home wimpering, the Dodge Charger.

Default Please help asap

I know this has probably been discussed a few million times but I have yet to see this particular situation discussed,

Tomorrow I am going to buy a 2006 charger daytona torred'

I live in Canada and this car is very rare as I've been looking for this specific colour I don't really want to miss out on it,

I got him down to $6,000 but the car does have 300,000 kilometers (not miles)

And normal RT chargers seem to be around the same price right now with around 200k kilometers in my area,

And I am very scared of the hemi tick, I don't want to drive all the way there (almost two hours after renting a trailer) to get there and hear a ticking noise and miss out if its just a manifold leak, my main question is without tearing the car apart how do I tell the difference between a Hemi tick (lifters) or a exhaust manifold leak,

Thank you,

Exhaust manifold leak will generally go away after the engine warms up.

Check for broken bolts on the exhaust manifolds.

They tick, all of them. This generation of engine isn't known for lifter failures, so unless someone has opened it up and put sh!tty lifters in it you're probably fine. Your bigger worry would be dropping a valve seat if you overheat it.
