There was one year in the late 90's where it didn't work on Cummins engine trucks. Otherwise, it's worked on every Chrysler product I've worked on since around 1989 or so. If you accidentally bump the starter, it won't work.Try it again and go slowly. If she has a lot of junk on her key ring, it may have worn the ingition switch barrel.
You might want to pick up an OBD II scanner. You can get cheaper ones for under $100. Otherwise, AutoZone, O'Reilly's and such will check it for you. They do it for free since you might need a particular part which they will be happy to sell you and save you a trip.
I took it to advanced auto parts scanned it and found out she needs plugs and coil packs. I have not tried again to pull codes via key dance.
I'm curious as to what specific codes showed up. I'm used to troubleshooting rather than reading codes. I've checked plug wires by shorting them with my hands before. Then again, that was the old points ignition and 6K voltage from the coil. Not the 50K and higher used now.
