Default Lifetime Powertrain Warranty

Hi everyone, new to the forum. I was hoping someone here has experience with having their engine replaced or rebuilt under the lifetime powertrain warranty. I have an 08 Charger R/T that the dealership says needs a new engine. It has around 150k miles on it and it’s up to date on the 5 year inspections. I’ve had other work covered under the warranty in the past without issues. The service advisor told me they don’t make that particular engine anymore and his request to use an aftermarket engine was denied. They told him he needs to reach out to his area manager to see about using a used engine. I suppose a used one would be fine as long as I still have the warranty on it. Not sure why they wouldn’t just rebuild it in the first place. Thanks for anyone’s help or advice!

A couple of the Mopar sites still show the long block available...... Not sure I would accept a used motor as a warranty replacement though.... Much prefer a rebuild, if that is possible.
