Default 2015 Dodge Charger SXT heating up but no overheating

My 2015 Dodge Charger SXT is heating up but NOT overheating just the temp gauge fluctuating up and down. I took it to Firestone and they said the radiator fan assembly needed replaced however after replacing it and driving a couple of miles down the road it continued to heat up (250 degrees) I took it back and they then said it could be an air pocket or blown head gasket. The guy told me that they ran checks on the head gaskets and it passed twice! However I just received another call from them and they are now saying it’s an “Internal Engine Failure” aka blown head gasket. They refunded my money and put the old assembly back on and told me I need to take it to an engine shop they can’t help me.

Anyone else experienced this problem?

Saw the same thing with an Astro Van. Replaced the water pump, and a few other odds and ends, but, it wasn't until coolant started hitting the ground that the problem became obvious. Head gasket.... That one had too many miles on it, I didn't pay much for it to begin with, and the repair was a replacement motor... Nope. I scrapped it. Your car is likely worth more than what the van was, but, is it worth throwing an engine at it? Even a used one??

It’s a 2015 Dodge Charger SXT with around 118,000 miles on it. Should I replace the head gasket?

If it's *just* a head gasket, probably worth doing.
