Default TB spacers - really work?

The TB spacer is about the only thing I haven't done to mine in a "bolt-on" sort of way, other than headers. Do these things really work? And whats the best one that you all have found that are using them? The only one I've found seems kind of expensive for a little piece of aluminum. Give me your thoughts, please.

Thanks,

dave

Baldy, looks like I'm gonna order one, too. Apparently, from what I am told my another member, one with "grooves" tends to spin the air and make it mix better for better low end performance. Not much of a HP improver, but good help for torque. I found one for $106 + shipping. Think I will order it today.

im not sure about these cars but ive been on a few silverado/colorado forums lately and the overall opinion is that they are just expensive paper weights. a lot of articles show that they actually hamper performance. also from what i read, it sounds like they might improve performace for old cars but not for new. again, all this is from what ive read, i dont even know anyone personally that has one. if you get one, let us know how they work.

I placed the order this morning. I should have it installed by next weekend (not tomorrow or Sunday). I'll be sure and post the results.

Don't waste your money. If they really worked every car manufacturer would installe them since they could make them for about a buck-a-piece. How about an electric supercharger? Hehe that is a good one too. The gullable will always make easy targets for these shysters. Even if they refund your money they have paid for it in the shipping charges...

I'll let you, and everyone, know if it does, or doesn't, work.

TorRed,

I installed mine at the same time I installed the K&N CAI. I'm real please with throttle response, low & midrange power and you should hear it sing!! When I demand real performance you can clearly hear the whistle of intake air flow, nearly sounds like a supercharger spooling up..

Good luck.

If it whistles then it is introducing turbulence into airstream, slowing the air flow into the intake, thereby hurting your performance. The airflow is releasing energy as sound, that would otherwise be used to move the air to the pistons where it is needed.

I have a limited amount of CHROME GAS CAPS, guaranteed to add 20 horsepower and 30 lb/ft or torque low down where it does the most good. How many can I sign you up for?

I must be getting very cranky lately cuz I seem to hate everything. Except my Daytona...
